You blow bubbles when you start getting frustrated. Two
weekends ago, I whisked you out of the sanctuary because you were
singing/screeching during father’s homily at Mass. You roll to the left but not
to the right. You like playing peek-a-boo
and smile every time we find you under the burp cloth. You kick your
legs when you get excited about something. You laugh before Daddy starts
tickling you. You recognize your bottle and get into a small panic right before
it’s in your tiny, dimpled hands. You’ve got sweet baby chub around your
thighs, belly and cheeks. You just started a tiny fake cough. You like nearly
every kind of food we put in front of you, except green beans. You smile when
we brush your hair. You seem to be growing overnight, literally bigger than
when you went to sleep. Around 7:00 p.m., you start getting whiney and hungry,
knowing it’s time for your big nighttime bottle and sleep. When you whine, it
sounds like you’re saying “onions.” You have one curl that springs out of your
head above each ear. Everyone says how pretty you are. My favorite time is when
you are asleep on my shoulder. You love
watching people. You go on fun adventures with Ms. Kathy and the kids,
adventures that I’m grateful you’re having even if it’s without me. You like to
talk and sing to stuffed animals. We are starting to save for you college
education. Usually when I wake up in the mornings or when you’ve taken an
especially long nap, I miss you even though we’re in the same house together.
